Downclock during Cinebench - Ryzen 5 2600

Hi All,

So im taking some baby steps into overclocking and finding something strange with the cpu during a Cinebench/prime95 run.

During idle it sits at 3.8ghz (33c), As soon as cinebench runs it drops to 2.4/2.5ghz(48c) and 70% utilisation, even lower on prime95 at 2.1/2.2ghz and 60% utlisation.

Windows is in high performance mode and i've disabled AMD's Cool and Quiet CPU options in the bios, nothing else jumps out at that would suggest its a setting that makes the CPU throttle itself like that.

Do you have a bios option for maximum cpu power in watts? Not sure if that's Intel or AMD... but if you have it, raise it

This will be vrm overheat or over current, cpu overheating, junk psu or simply an incorrect setting.

Return to stock and run to check the frequency, temp and score then.

Hi all,

I forgot to come back to this one. problem solved by updating the bios.

I hadnt changed any settings was just trying to get a baseline score for stock.
