Recently i have sold almost all of my PC games and i only plan on buying Battlefield 2142 and maybe Quake Wars when they are released. Due to this, i have come to realise that my 7900GT is kind of pointless, so i might sell it and buy a less powerful card.

After looking at various cards and prices, the 7900GS seems like the best way to go. I was just wondering if there are any better alternatives and whether selling my 7900GT to buy a 7900GS is really worth doing?

I'm not planning to upgrade my card again for at least another year.

i would just stick with that tbh.
plus if you arnt planning upgrading for a year then the 7900GT will still provide good performance in some future games

Not really worth doing to be honest as youd be spending all of wjhat you got for the 7900GT on a 7900GS.

You could go for a 7600GT but you wouldnt get much cash from the deal.

well, i just sold my 7600gt for £70 inc delivery. you could sell your 7900gt for lets say £120 then buy a 7600gt for £70 and you end up with 50 quid in your pocket.

but if it was me, i would not go for the downgrade unless i was giving up gaming altogether.

I thought the 7900GT might be worth a bit more than £120.. my downgrade idea doesn't look too sensible now! I had thought about the 7600GT but thats probably too much of a downgrade. Thanks for the replies.
