Hi,

Trying to get used to linux (have fedora core 6 installed), have a 5250 emulator loaded on my works laptop and need help to get it loaded/setup/running.

got an rpm file, and it appears to be on the system but not sure what i need to do to get it installed and working, guilty of being used to the windows setup.exe :(

thx

(as root) rpm -ivh nameofrpm.rpm

With any luck it will just install, otherwise you may be about to encounter RPM dependency hell ;)

oh crap that doesnt sound good

finally got round to this and i go into emulator and try to run the command and it says that it cant find the file.

double clicked on the rpm and it said that the package had already been installed ??

that seems to indicate that the software is loaded but how do i actually access it to start it ?

sorry for the noob questions :(
