Hiya,

Ive been trying to download the Company Of Heroes demo for quite a while now, however due to my Uni internet being rubbish (disconnects every 8 hours) I have been unable to get it.

I downloaded DAP after someone recommended it in the C&C demo thread of the PC Games forum however im still getting an average of 50kbs on the download. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I knew about the spyware thingy before I installed it, not too fussed solong as the program does its job...

As its like 2am though id have thought a lot of people would have turned their pc's off. The 8 hour thing deters most of my mates from downloading overnight as they usually dont get the bigger files and I think im on like a 100mb plus line here.

Is there anything that can be enabled/disabled in the options menu to boost the speeds?

Not in america is isn't. ;) Have you tried downloading it from gamershell? They usually have good speeds. You could try bittorrent as well.

Internet cut out and I lost about 1gb worth of content, annoying as the program told me it would let me resume the download :(.

Oh well, ill look for a torrent.

Edit:

Didnt see your post when I replied to the topic :P

Ill try Gamershell now, ive got 8 hours again now so I can only hope.

Cheers for the help.

I would recommend FlashGet. Its free and it supports resume and increases the speed imo better than other download accelerators.

I never got on with Flashget so I use DownThemAll instead - plugs straight into Firefox and off you go - not nearly as good as Getright, but you have to pay for the full version of that (to get more than 4 connections) and I couldn't possibly suggest that the acquire it by other means ;)

Ah well if you use firefox and it has a plugin for it then that makes sence. I am an ie7 man myself.

Freedownloadmanager is just as good as DAP and doesn't include lame spyware. And you are lucky to be on a faster line than a 1mb, thats all we have here atm.
