Hi,
My dad brought home an old PII tower with everything in it. He said maybe we can sell it, I ripped it apart and came to the conclusion its really not worth it.
Specs:
450Mhz PII SLOT A CPU
64MB of Ram
8GB HDD
E-machines Mobo
So I thought of some uses for it. If I put about 256MB of Ram in there and my other 80GB Hdd for now would it cope? File transfer over the network will probably be quite slow but I have the time.
I think I would just hook it up to the network and shove it into the corner of the room or something
. No keyboard or moniter. And when I need to do something I can use remote assistance. It would be near my other comp and Tv so I can just quickly plug the mouse, keyboard and tv into it if i needed to do something else. I have another question, does Windows 2000 have remote assistance? If not Ill probably put Xp on there. My parents PIII has 320MB of Ram and a 500Mhz CPU and it runs fine.
And last question, If the CPU is to slow Ill probably get a slot 370 (sp?) Cpu as the motherboard has 2 slots on it from an auction site.
Thanks a lot in advance.
