Hello,

I am trying to set up a system where users run program installations from the server opposed to them downloading it and then installing it.

The best solution i have at the moment is for users to paste the path into Internet Explorer and then click go. This then prompts them to install.

Im looking to get it so I can just email an icon or word that they click on which will them prompt them to install the program.

Thanks in advance

Create a shortcut to each .exe or .msi and email that? Make sure that the shortcut is pointing to the servername\sharename rather than "D:\apps\etc etc"
Or send them a link in an html email like click here to install app

I can see either of those ways working.
Or of course you could look into SMS if there are that many users needing applications.

Thanks

I worked out why i was having a problem. I had a "#" in the folder name and it wouldnt let me set up a hyperlink to the exe.
