Hi Guys, Just sitting at work on a 10mb SDSL line, and was wondering if you guys know any good free games that i can get?

Whats that company that puts there games on there site after they have been out for like 10 years or something?

Im looking for things along those line, old school games basically

ID releases most of their old games under the terms of the GPL. Old versions of Doom and Quake are available for download. People have even ported the engines to use hardware acceleration or other features that never existed in the original versions. You can also grab binaries or complie your own for systems that were never originally supported. It's quite dandy.

Technically speaking they don't actually release the old games, only the code for the binaries. All the content (maps, textures, sounds and so forth) usually remains copyrighted. So you can't actually get the full versions of those games for free.
