Whats the right way of going about these - type them in and email them to the company, type in them, print them out and hand in physically, or print out, handwrite and hand in physically.

Not sure what the preferred method is, if they prefer to see if you can actually write with a pen or if companies just prefer digital copies?

If one box represents one character then I'd hand write it, and physically give it to the personnel manager if they are available.

If they are not available I'd send it first class addressed to the personnel manager.

Otherwise I'd type it and e-mail it to the personnel manager if one box does not represent one character on the form.

Either way I wouldn't give application forms to receptionists (I know that's not what you asked, but I have answered the original question).
