I have a 5mb internet connection but downloading content through the 360 seems to take a while. A 850mb demo took a couple of hours.

Do I need to forward any ports or do something different?

Cheers

It does seem to be slow lately, i mean lately as in about 4 months  . It has got abit poor. Used to be very fast back in april, may time.

I tend to get slow downloads but i think thats just down to the amount of people downloading the same thing such as newly released demo's, as if i download something that is not really in demand it goes fast (im on 4MB).

I'll normaly leave new demo a day or 2 till i download for this reason.

I've found the time of day makes a difference as well.

If you go for first thing in the morning it seems to go through really quick but early evening is a nightmare.

Hmmmm with my 8mb connection games download very quickly indeed. Also with a lack of transfer rate being shown I could not tell you exactly how fast.

However newer demos to the marketplace download slower than the older ones.

trailers and demo's seem to download very fast for me, only takes 5 minutes or so to get a new demo, but with live arcade games it can take 5-10 minutes to get a small 25mb game.

Always been slow from day one for me. 8 Meg connection and it takes hours to download a demo or trailer. Sure glad they havent got the HD movie content over here as I could go to town, have lunch, buy the DVD from the shop, journey home, walk the dogs and then watch the DVD before it has downloaded. Dont tend to download much from it anymore

Tis really fast for me so far. Have downloaded Vegas Multi demo in 25mins and dead rising in about 25 mins on 8mb..so far so good. I am using really long cat5 cable to the router and i just plugged it in and everything worked fine and dandy.
