There are many programs that you can use to download youtube clips however they will all most likely download the clips in FLV format.
The latest versions of Windows Media Player should play Flash FLV files without any problem, but you may need to install a media decoder first. If your version of WMP doesn't work with FLV files, try installing ffdshow found here http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout/
A program you could use to download youtube clips is found herehttp://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ it also lets you convert the youtube to other video formats.
+1 for vdownloader, great program, no installation need just store in My Documents ina separte folder and run, you can preview vids using it before downloading them also choose what format you want the resulting file.
