Thinking about getting Medieval 2: Total War through Steam, but do the games run ok? can you patch them and stuff like that?

thanks.

Personally i only use it when i can save money, i wanted COD2 and saw it was sold via steam for £20 or so, problem was i could buy the game retail for between £10-15, which for me makes it totally pointless.

Games are fine, i've got loads through steam, never had a problem with it.

Just the other day I bought Earth2160 for about £6, downloaded in about an hour, and was off playing the rest of the day, so 3rd party games run fine as well.

I've bought 3 or 4 games using Steam and all was fine. Had a fairly slow download for one game (Jagged Alliance 2) but I suspect this was because it's not a AAA game like the others.

I quite like Steam really, only once or twice in two years or so has my CS:S been unavailable.
