After the last bout of sales I find I have over 60 gb of games to download which would take forever at home at 80-120k . Compare this to work 800-900k then its a no brainer, add to this that I can only download 40gb a month at home.

I was planning on downloading game at work backing them up and restoring them at home. I am assuming it will work ok or does anyone know any different??

You would need to get Steam installed on one of those work PCs, which would probably be the hardest part of this, then you may need to explain why you are downloading so much on their connection, as they may have some kind of useage policy in place. But otherwise just download and either copy over the files that Steam downloads onto an external drive, or run steam off that drive.

We have a "internet" line seperate from our work network. So I just unplug the internet pc and plug it into my laptop.

No one ever questions it.

I wouldn't. If like my place of work you were made to sign an Electronic Usage Policy then this sort of activity would be in direct breach of that EUP, and would possibly be a disciplinary offence.

Lol well then its a no brainer!

Im assuming you were asking if downloading them on a seperate computer and then transferring the files accross would work?

The answer is very much a yes

Just one thing... is your internet used as part of a WAN (connecting you to another site), if yes, you could seriously hamper the performance of your network?

Just make sure you're sitting with your shirt untucked, tie loose, cocktail in hand and blaring Spandau Ballet's "Gold" from the stereo while you watch the games download.
