I'm trying to download some very large files in Firefox from the GameSpot website. However, Firefox will only allow 2 to download at once. When I click to try and download the third, it won't pop up asking me to save the file until one of the first 2 downloads has finished. This is really annoying as it's going to be ages before either of the first two have finished, and I'd rather have all files downloading slowly than only 2 downloading fast at once. I've had a peak in the Download options but there's nothing relating to this.

How can I get this to work?

Regards,

Michael.

Best thing i can think of off the top of my head is this. Get the flashgot download manager, you can then use this to download rather than the inbuilt one and it's a lot more flexible.

Not ideal..

In the address bar type about:config and press enter.

That will bring up the Firefox config file. Scroll down until you find network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server.

Change the 2 to whatever ammount of downloads you want at once. Around 6-8 is about the limit for most broadband connections.
