I successfully downloaded the 32bit Vista Beta2 with Firefox but for some reason thought I'd try a download manager for the x64 version. Wished I hadn't.

I have now downloaded the x64 version twice (using DownloadThemAll) and each time it fails at 100% and says "cancelled". Trying to resume calls up a URL that relates to a busy Microsoft site and I'm left with the temp file(s) that DownloadThemAll has created.

There doesn't appear to be any way to rescue the 4Gb part files I've already downloaded.

At the moment I feel that DownloadThemAll is absolute crap.

I hope I've decribed this properly - I've just got in from the pub! I hoped to have the x64 iso waiting fro me.

Use download accelerator plus, much better, the file is wierd though, it goes over 100% complete because it reports the size wrong.

Here I am replying to my own post!

DownLoadThemAll is hopeless, utter crap. It cannot resume properly. It can't or won't let me open it's already downloaded (.part) files. I see no benfit at all to this extension. :(

I use DownThemAll for all my downloads > 20mB, never had a problem. It worked perfectly for Vista 32 bit, maybe it's bad luck but I have heard a lot of people having trouble downloading the 64 bit Vista even with the MS download manager

I think what happens is that MS redirect the link to the ISO to a "we are busy" html page and DownLoadThemAll decides to now download this dumping the 4GB file in the process with no way of recovering it or resuming. I've found where the temp file is stored and deleted it.

Used the stanfard Firefox download method overnight and I now have the ISO.
