Downsampling - Monitor Dependent?

Hey.

I'm thinking about getting a new graphics card because AMD 7850s are capped at a little above 1440p and its generally a pain to get downsampling working on AMD.

But before I spend 300 or so on a graphics card i was wondering if any of you guys could clear something up for me. As far as I'm aware downsampling shouldn't be a problem no matter what monitor you have, but i dont want to take the risk and buy a new graphics card only to find out my monitor isn't up to the job.

I have a DGM 27inch 2560x1440 monitor if that's any use to anyone.

Cheers.

Downsampling is when the graphics card renders the image at a higher resolution than the resolution the image should be rendered at, then simply resizes it to the correct resolution - this has zero baring on the monitor.
