Downside to xbox360 arcade?

I would recommend

Crackdown
Condemned
Dead Rising
Bioshock
Fable 2
Halo 3

Shouldn't pay anymore than 10 each for any of them
 
Skate 2 is pretty damn fun as well, and Street Fighter 4, I picked them both up for £20, and yeah I got my 360 from eBay, there's an awful lot of crap on there (faulty consoles, red ring consoles) but if you search long enough you'll get a bargain.

The bundle is released on the 5th of March so I got some waiting to do.

Does the 360 elite have a spdif port on the back?
 
The official cables come with a spdif port buts its not on the console itself. I'm not sure if the composite cables that come with the console have it though.
 
Don't go second hand, you won't get a warranty for any RROD (whereas with a new one you will get 3 years ofcourse) and there's always the chance you'll get one banned from xbox live or with some problems. If the one you posted with the 4 games (gears, halo, fable and forza for £190) is new then it's definitely a good buy.

I was in a supermarket the other day, and they had elites for 150 quid (maybe 159.99) still thought it was a great buy.

I don't have an hdmi reciever, I really need the spdif port. Some people are saying on googlez that MS dropped the cable when it lowered the price, meaning I would have to buy one.

Anyone bought one this week to confirm if it comes with the adaptor?
 
they did indeed drop the adaptor from the elite console. They just come with the standard cable now (yellow, red & white connections)
 
ok, got it now, I think. Some people are saying the console comes with a HDMI lead. I need the MS adapter because the HDMI cable has a dongle on it with a TOSlink port.

Is the adapter a TOSlink or coaxial port, it doesn't say on Ms site :/

I had both display cables (HDMI & the big grey cable) attached untill i got an amp, so i could use the toslink to my old surround system, no probs ;)

I personally wouldn't recommend a second hand machine, there's no guarantee as how long it'll last.

so I could buy an old official component cable and plug the toslink into that then plug an hdmi normal cable in. Then go into xbox settings and tell it to do vid through hdmi and audio through ghetto old style component?

Gah, prob not worth the hassle finding one second hand for the sake of £15 for official hdmi/audio adapter pack.

The HDMI port is just above the extra large display port, it's a tight squeeze but it works. Then i eventually get a new amp, so I only have to use the HDMI lead.
 
have a look on ebay or in MM see if anyone is just selling the audio adaptor. Possibly have a look in any of your local shops that sell pre-owned consoles see if they have any. They are expensive brand new
