Hi Chaps, I'm looking to make my first mATX (none overclock) build by downsizing from my current rig. I want to use the attached mobo as its cheap, and got usb 3 and sata 6/gps etc. Also I will use onboard graphics so already I can sell my noisey graphics card. I just need some pointers on the following...
1. Will the current memory & cpu work ok with it?
CPU is i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ)
MEMORY is Patriot PVT36G1600LLK DDR3 1600 Mhz
2. Can I have a "passive" cooler in a mATX case, no fans etc so totally totally silent? If so which ones?
3. What PSU should I get? Bear in mind there could be up to 4 hdd's etc &DVD DRIVE too
4. And finally I think I'd like a case a bit like an amplifier any ideas would be greatly appreciated, but I guess that might be dependant on cooling etc .....thanks!

ok cool - is sandy bridge faster then than what I got already? I'll sell it all I think I think budget will be all I am selling - current PC should get near enough 400 then ps3 aswell - maybe some extra probably 600 quid

think this is what I want, although it's a got a bit over priced but still, it looks mint
if you can see any howlers let me know (thought about the i7 thing and opted to go i7-sandy plus I get the built in graphics then and keep performance???)

thanks for all your advice, I'd have rushed and made a balls up if I hadnt been patient and checked in with the OC guru's....

I think my main gripe was with the graphics noise and the size of the HAF 932, I dont game anymore but do require some beef as I work from home using a virtual machine and lots of the other stuff. I think I can really quieten things down with a passive graphics card (ati 5450) which I have in a media PC under the tele!

So how about keeping I7, mobo & ram and PSU adding ati 5450 and just bunging them into the lian-li - would that give me better performance than all the new kit but still be pretty quiet?
