My downstairs toilet bowl is drainage is slow when flushed it will rise to the top then slowly drain.

Ive tried using a plunger and a toilet snake to no avail the drainage is so slow it won' even shift a small piece of toilet paper I've got 2 other toilets that work fine so I don' think it' a soil pipe issue any thing else I can try before calling out a plumber?

You will need to find the man hole which the toilet goes to and lift that up, you might need to put a hose down there and back-flush.

Would this be an old syphonic toilet by any chance ?? - I cleared one once with drain rod with the rubber disk thing - - slowly pushed it in then pushed hard and it went.

Only time I've seen that is when the pipe goes up an incline before dropping down again after the bend - seems to eventually block up. We had issues like that trying to replace a toilet where the new style ones have the pipe lower than where the pipe came out the wall and trying to use an adaptor resulted in a slight incline and frequent blocking.

No its a new style toilet with the push button flusher at the top it' about 3 years old the house is a new build about 3 years ago when we moved In

I asked because I once had to unblock a toilet that was syphonic and after doing all the mucky bit's it turned out to be the plastic lever inside cistern jamming on syphon and they needed a full flush to work

Hope you blockage is easily fixed - One thing I do on regular basis with these low flush cisterns is tip a bowl of hot washing up water down mine - I don't think most of the time a half flush is enough especially when women have been in there and used half bog roll in one go.

Problem seemed to have fixed itself wife used the toilet upstairs and apparently the shower plug hole farted when the toilet was flushed and downstairs toilet now flushing fine

Wierd but least I'm able cancel the plumber

Get yourself a few buckets of hot soapy water and throw them down all your toilets just to make sure they run clean. When mine blocked up it was due to toilet paper- low flush and standing all night where it had dried out in pipes all ready to pick up another bit of paper and so on and so one - I am one bucket a week man now just to be sure they are clear..

ps also bucket down sink as well
