DP priority during POST on nvidia card?

Hey chaps, this is a silly issue...

I have just upgraded to a 1060, and moved my main screen from DVI to DP. When booting up, the GPU only outputs to DVI, which is connected to a portrait-oriented side monitor. The card only has one DVI output, and the side screen only has DVI input, so I can't swap them.

Would really prefer POST/BIOS/UEFI/whatever to be via displayport. I know it can, because if I remove the second monitor and use only DP, then it does. But I don't know how to tell it to favour DP in the presence of other screens :/

Minor niggle, won't really get in my way often, but it looks kinda silly while booting and I'd quite like to find a solution if one exists.

Cheers :)

If you're not already, try using the DP port on its own on the other side of the HDMI port. Despite not being labelled externally, there is a hierarchy to the three ports. I was puzzled for a while that I couldn't get boot information on my main monitor connected via DP when I had my second connected via HDMI (it'd only display on that), but a look in the Nvidia control panel told me I was actually using port three as far as the card was concerned. Moving the cable to port one instead (which has been the isolated port on every card I've tried) fixed the issue and displayed everything on my main monitor.

Now that you mention it, the card has DP-DP-HDMI-DP, and I think I plugged it into the left-most... I will give it a go when I get home tonight, cheers :)

Well, I did have it plugged into the left-most... but the one on the right (on its own, next to HDMI) doesn't show POST either, still preferring to use the DVI monitor.

What I didn't mention but may be relevant is that there's a third screen on that HDMI - a Cintiq that is generally turned off at the time the PC is starting up. Maybe that's confusing it? :/
