I was expecting a delivery via DPD yesterday afternoon, which didn't show up. The online tracking status reverted back from 'out for delivery' to 'at the depot' around 7pm. I hadn't missed the delivery and didn't get a card through the door, but the update was that there was no one in and a calling card was left. After wasting some time in their automated call handling system, I thought I'd give it another go this morning.
This wasn't an OCUK delivery, which ironicially I did get yesterday morning from DPD at 11.05.
I managed to locate a head office/customer services number via Say No To 0870. The main customer service number just has a recorded message saying the offices are closed, and gives the opening hours (which state that they should be open from 0800 this morning).
I also managed to speak to the 'local' (30 miles away) depot. After trying to fob me off with 'you were out when we called', the staff member then blamed the bank holidays and contract staff. Apparently my item couldn't be delivered as the contract driver ran out of time. When I asked for it to be delivered today, apparently this is a 'premium service' and I'd have to wait until Monday (when I'm not in).
I've wasted half a day so far, and I'd like to speak to someone in who can actually help. I realise it's the weekend so head office will be closed, but if anyone has any alternative number for customer services, I'd really appreciate it - Say No To 0870 can sometimes be out of date.
