So sitting in anticipation of receving my new monitors. Nothing adds further excitment to ordering stuff from OCUK, communicating on the forums with members and the great OCUK support staff, than watching the little red indicator jumping around the map of the local area, indicating the delivery van making drops at various locations :)

So the driver (Arwyn) of the van today has to deliver 119 items! (Im impressed!).

Whats the largest number of deliveries you have seen on the DPD website when you have stuff ordered with OCUK?

Not noticed but our driver always has a smile on his face and visits the same streets so one can guess that he has made a few special deliveries along the way. ;)

Had a delivery yesterday and as he was 4 mins early we had to stand and chat at the door as he said he couldn't sign the parcel off until it's arranged time?

This is what I find ridiculous. Why on earth can't they sign it off early?!

I just pulled the barcode of the parcel and said 'here - scan it at the right time'

They run on a tight schedule as far as I am aware, if they are ahead of themselves then the other peoples tracking would be off. :)

Just how it works I guess!

Our dpd driver goes all over and will pass our place at say 9am but can't deliver till 5pm, now he's started dropping the parcels off but taking the ticket with him so he can scan at the right time.

Saves so much hassle waiting for parts to turn up.

Most I've seen is only around 90.

Once had 2 parcels from 2 different sellers, delivered one around midday and had to come back a few hours later to bring the other, couldn't give it me until the arranged time :(

The tracker wont let them, even if someone is in.

I worked for Interlink with the same software an its an idiotic system, there are cases of them being sat out side premises for ten minutes or so because they have no way of getting the parcel signed off.

The delivery rate is set by how many deliveries the DP thinks the driver can do an hour + the location of the drops on the day as decided by the GPS software on the handhelds byu the postcode field.

Which as we know bares no relevance what so ever to where an actual address is.

It made no impact what so ever on the amount of cards we left every day.

My recent one was 95 or something but I notice he was 3 streets away (about 400m) on drop #4 or something like that about the time I got out of bed and checked it and the drop before us was like 5 miles away :S guess it was based on the size and/or order of stuff packed into the van though.

David is currently making delivery number 38, you are delivery number 104. David is approximately 4 hours away from you.

He's actually about 6 streets away... I guess it's all down to the number of those deliveries which have a pre-10 or a pre-midday delivery slot, compared to my OcUK delivery which is just on a "next day"?

I've also had the 'running early' problem, he just said he'd sign on our behalf and left.....very good service though, and nearly always arrives at the start of the one hour window.
