I ordered a lens from a shop that insisted that they had to ship to the cardholder address. So it's coming via DPD on Monday and like everybody else in the world I'll be at work. I've been on their site and I can't change it to another address (lol yeah right), or do a collect+. They say they can't leave it anywhere (neighbours or otherwise).

I seem to recall when I bought a lens from this store before they attempted the delivery- then I believe I could change it to a collect+ for the redelivery? Does that sound right? It was a long time ago...

The nearest depot is hard to get to (don't have a car) so if it ends up there it'll be a major ball ache.

Tldr: I'm not going to be in for my DPD delivery, what will they do with it?

You should be able to rearrange on their website for a day of your choice, maybe even a Saturday if that suits you.
It already gives me the option to change the day but not to Saturday :(

Is the Collect+ option a pipedream here?

Well, bizarrely I got a text this morning saying my delivery would be made between 12:03 and 13:03 today. So I'm sitting here twitching at any sort of noise on the street.. let's see if they come good. Good job I didn't have anything planned :o

Why not ask DPD?
If you note my OP it was 10pm. I doubt they were open and I see so many complaints about them on here I thought there'd be plenty of experiences :)

Can't you arrange to collect it from the depot or is that too far away ?
It's two buses and about 1hr away. Tedious, and I object to doing that when I've paid for the delivery. It's not necessarily DPD's fault but the store who insisted via stupid card rules (not necessary btw) that it must be sent to the cardholder's address.
