Not from OCUK this time, but after sitting outside my house for several minutes he disappears and I get this.

Sender has been contacted and I've been promised it will be delivered today. Will update later.
Andi.

I don't understand why some of these drivers do this. I mean what benefit is it to them to arrive at an address with a parcel and then immediately drive away without trying to deliver it? I just don't get it.

This has actually happened to me before (on a OCUK delivery), I was watching the whole thing from the window, the van literally gave my package to the house across the road because it was much closer to where the van could park on the road, the lady showed me the package and the card that came with it, it had MY address on it. They marked me as not in. They're ****ing lazy idiots who need a smack up the backside.

These drivers keep moaning that they aren't getting paid enough, well no **** sherlock, maybe if you did your job properly and weren't such a useless cretinous drain on your company that you have to keep making return trips, you'll get paid more for it. Until then, suck my fat one.

Saves a fair bit of time, compared to getting out, walking to the door, waiting for a response, especially when they assume that no one will be in.
All because most companies put to much pressure on drivers.
It seems the days of having the same driver are gone, who used to learn what you worked. A few years ago the DPD driver knew what my work van was and knew I worked shifts and used to bang on the door extremely loudly to wake me up. That hasn't happened in years.
Although it's mainly Amazon logistics now and it's a different person every single time

Don't get me started on DPD, they delivered my parcel once to the wrong address who wasn't in so they left it in a safe place at the wrong address which happened to be the inside of a empty recycling wheelie bin. They even uploaded a photo of the parcel in the wheelie bin as "proof" of it being in the safe place at the said wrong address. Now every property in my town has one of these recycling wheelie bins so no idea how that is proof. When I contacted DPD they admitted they had no idea where they delivered it to and it wasn't for a few days when someone, presumably whos bin it was left in, brought it round with a very puzzled look on her face.

Now I'm always vary of anything being delivered by DPD.

I'm having a bit of an issue with them currently too.

Something was delivered by DPD, with someone else's address on it, but also mine. I queried this with the deliveryman, and he said it didn't matter, mine was the right one.

Cue opening it up, and what a surprise, it's not for me.

Contacted the other addresse, and it turns out they've been given someone else's stuff too, but not mine.

And the next person? You guessed it, they've got someone else's stuff.

DPD then came and collected the parcel from me for return to the company.

Two days later, and it arrived back with me, exactly as it left me, in exactly the same packaging!

Not defending it at all but the above is so true. My dad worked for UPS for a short time after getting made redundant and he said the amount of pressure they put on you to deliver everything and not fall behind at all is ridiculous. He used to be so stressed and wound up all the time while working there,

Wont be a problem soon enough, massive fleets of UAVs carrying your belongings will make all this a thing of the past... well until new problems show up (UAV getting stolen/shot down).
