DPM Under Laminate?

I know sometimes underlay doesn't come with dpm attached and this has to be laid separately before the underlay goes down, but I have a different question.

My extension had it's concrete slab poured about 12 weeks ago, my flooring guy advises it will be fine ensuring there is a DPM upon laying (I have paid him to screed the concrete but not to lay the laminate, I am doing it myself).

I have purchased 22.50m2 of sonic gold which includes a vapour barrier, I do not know whether to trust the sonic gold or lay separate DPM underneath anyway, can anyone advise?

Only issue is, I need to join on to my original floor (I'm buying the same stuff) and don t want a door bar (as it's just an opening not a door and the flooring is the same).

If I place more dpm underneath I'm afraid it will result in the floor level becoming too high to join from the end row of the dining room.

It's 18m2 in total and I'm laying Himalayan slate from wickes

I guess this would be suitable?

Any idea on tolerances for laminate floor height differences? It would only be the thickness of the dpm in difference.

I'm not sure you need to worry about the thickness of the DPM really. At a fraction of a millimeter I can't imagine it causing you an issue.

Generally it's not advised to put two vapour barriers on top of each other as it can trap moisture between them, giving no way of it escaping and leading to mold.
