Hi, i just recently bought some stuff for my first build from overclockers and have encountered a problem that has made me realise i wired it up wrong probably.

when i turn it on my front and rear and psu fan start to spin, except for my CPU fan which doesnt spin, although when i turn it off at the mains it starts to spin for around about 1 second.

anyone know where i should put the fan wire or what i am doing wrong, its currently placed below the middle heatsink, im happy to supply any more information.

thanks.

i cant get into the bios yet as my graphics card hasnt come, but i will check it when it comes, thought i did something wrong.

thanks

Thats normal, when you get your gfx card do as said above by williamw11 when you can get into the BIOS, its what i did on my DS4. :)

You can leave it like that though if you want, as it will start to spin when your CPU reaches a certain temp (as thats what its set to do by default), but for peace of mind do as above as said, that way it will spin all the time, but speed up/slow down depending on what your doing, and help with the noise to, as if your just browsing the net say, then it will run pretty slow as the CPU wont be doing anything, but then when you start gaming it will pick up speed to accomodate the rise in temp from your CPU as you'll be using it then.

thats nice to know, i hate the beeps when starting up >_<, its sort of a

Long(1) - Short(3) beeps

also this might be a bit of a nooby question but i put my memory in one in 1 yellow slot and the other in the other yellow slot (ddr2) not in differant color slots.

also theirs a few more questions i want to ask.

theirs a molex point in the top right of the motherboard what do i connect to their?

and also im a bit stumped with this S-ATA, i have connected the sata cable to the motherboard from the hdd using supplied sata cable and the sata power cable to the power supply (i was a bit puzzled as the connector was not molex) but it seems to be spinning.

i will update on any further problems just to make my peace at mind.

That molex connector on the baord is only to supply extra power if your using 2x gfx cards, so if your only using the one then then theres no need to connect that one, i have my memory in both yellow slots to. :)

Those beeps, 1 - Long, 3 - Short mean a keyboard error, so if you don't have one plugged in yet that will be why.

Yeah SATA drives don't use the 4x pin molex's like IDE/DVD Drives etc..., sounds to be connected fine seen as its spinning.

thanks, also is their a website that shows what differany beeps, are they all generic or specific to each motherboard.

i found

http://www.amptron.com/html/bios.beepcodes.html

and looked up on the beeps for Award bios (which i think is in my GA DQ6)

and it says (btw it was 1 long 2 short)

1 Long, 2 Short Video adapter failure

so its probably right as i dont have a graphics card in it yet.

thanks for the help, il post pics of my new build when its fully completed.
