Greetings,
A draft build for comment from you kind people :-)

This will be a gaming rig primarily, with occasional use for image processing in Gimp.

I run ultrawide 1440. GPU (GTX 1080) will be poached from my current rig.

Having not built a rig for about 10 years I'm super out of touch on latest/greatest, so I welcome your scrutiny of this build and any suggests amendments.

I will be sad to say goodbye to my i5 3570K which has been a total workhorse and run like a dream.

Below is the build. PSU may be a smidge OTT but I run an 850 w currently and it works, so I was playing safe.
TIA

Looks fine in general to me! I don't know anything about water cooling so can't comment on that kit or the case though.

One thought is that you've got a pcie gen 3 nvme drive there, and it's pricey because it's Samsung. I'd get a gen 4 drive like this for less money: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cruc...3d-nand-nvme-solid-state-drive-hd-074-cr.html

This mobo seems to have been fairly well received and it's £60 less: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ntel-z690-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-36d-ms.html
But then the mobo you've picked has better audio, and better VRM, probably various other improvements too, so tbh I'd stick with the mobo you picked for this sort of budget, just thought I'd throw another option in.

Also note that's the last gen model of the rm850 power supply. Not really a problem as its a great psu and not really outdated in any way, but some people prefer the newer model I think mainly because it has a fan that is theoretically better. I'd be tempted to get the most recent gen RMx (RMx psus habe better capacitors than the RM ones) version though: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ca-267-cs.html. As for capacity I think 850W is a good idea at this sort of budget. Should give you plenty of options if you upgrade your gpu when the next generation launches (although if you think you're likely to want a top of the range gpu then may be worth going 1000W+, given the direction power requirements are heading).

I have the original 011D with a custom wter cooling in it. The bigger case is awesome for water cooling but the water cooling kit you have picked wont fit your new intel chip as there is no lga 1700 adapter for it yet so you would need to buy a new block.

Otherwise you will need to build your own custom loop.
