Dragbike blows riders hand off

Doesnt look like a hand, maybe a glove or something he is holding! looks like he is in a lot of pain but there's no blood and it came off too clean and easy imo.
 
I posted this a few moons back, well I mentioned where it could be found as I wasn't sure it was forum safe ;)

I thought it was a hand off job myself

Oh and it wasn't the piston either, just part of the air box. Apparently the bloke wears armour now (after it happened again).

nothing wrong with bikes
i have been riding them for 30 years
its the guy in the tin can that bikers have to watch out for
