It is greedy. You're a bit dumb if you can't see that and the reasoning behind such claims.
I missed this repsonse until the thread got bumped just now.
Dumb?
Dumb would be not realising that the majority of profit from these games comes from the first wave of sales, primarily pre-orders. Most people who want this type of game, or get excited by it will generally pre-order it. Those who are less bothered will wait the 6 weeks it takes for the price to drop to £17.99 or lower. Pre-order bonuses, especially characters & missions help to draw these waverers in, into making the purchase at full price, and early.
But anyway, for all those crying over chargable content:
It was free with the pre-order until a fixed date. If your game of DA:O was registered, which it had to be for any DLC or bonus content, you would have received the email like myself pointing this out & been able to make a decision on whether it was worth it.
If you considered it worth it, you could have preordered & received it at £25.
If you considered it not worth it, you can wait till a month or two after the original release date, buy the game for £18, and if you like it, buy the DLC for a few extra quid, making it near the release date price.
This isn't rocket science, it's marketing & it's designed to get your money earlier, since there'll be little reward for waiting unless it's for a year or so for the GOTY edition.
It also seems to be an issue to people that developers decide what is part of the game & what isn't. If you don't like it, don't buy it. It's as simple as that.
