I dont know why this game gets such low fps in certain situations. ive just started an a city elf and am in the castle saving the wife to be. Randomly running around the castle the fps can just from 130 down to 40s? its the same when i was at the alienage also. I am running a 4870x2. Im guessing dragon age is yet another title crossfire does not like. I really feel i have wasted 300 pound investing into ATI. Most games i own just does not run well whatsoever with crossfire. Im running the 9.12 drivers. i have tried the 9.11s with same problems. Anyone with crossfire experience up and down fps?

I'll never buy a dual gpu again after my experience with the 4870x2. I mean it's a great card but there are just so many little niggles with running a dual gpu card, and like you say, most games don't take advantage of it. I'm running a 5870 at the minute and I use vsync on dragon age, the only times it drops below 60fps are in very busy places like the market district in Denerham.
Have you tried turning catalyst ai off? It might be one of those games that doesn't like dual gpu's.

i ran dragon age with my 4870x2 with little problem to fps. however the game has real mem problems because the load times/stuttering would be incredible after an hour or so in game

I had chronic framerate and crashing issues running it on a 8800GTX. Denerim would be the worst affected area, sometimes it would be fine other times it would have an unplayable frame rate or would crash every other time I entered a building. Typical Bioware game.

Must say not had a problem with DAO on my 4870x2. In fact have to say I don't seem to get a lot of the problems that some people seem to mention with games  guess I'm just lucky.

Im running it at 2560x1600 with my 8800gts, Its mostly smooth. I noticed the odd slowdown when there's a lot of environmental effects, like the smoke in the sacred ashes caves.

Only problem I have with it are the memory leaks and the increasingly lengthy load times.

Mostly smooth on my 8800GT. I played it for 3-4 hours last night though and by the time I was ready to finish, loading was taking ages and just opening/closing my inventory was a 3-4 second affair. :(

Running this with 2 Asus 5770's in Xfire and I dont get any stuttering at all.

I have noticed a FPS dip when running through mist.

Played about 15 hours so far and it runs great apart from the above which I have only seen once so far.

im not getting any real issues with this game on my 5870, maxed out at 1680-1050. 60 fps vsynced, again the only time it drops is when running through mist etc. no crashes at all. load times are pretty fast, only like 10 seconds tops on the larger areas smaller areas are almost instant load.

Do you not get a lower framerate in crowded areas like the market district in denerham? I'm running at 1920x1200 like so that might make a difference. I've never had the framerate drop with any mist.
