Dragon Age Origins help!

I find it hard to believe you went there first on your first playthrough and didn't lose the majority/all of the townsfolk when you simply don't have the ability to keep them alive with heals or protect them effectively when you're own lack of equipment and skills makes it hard enough on yourself...

Oh, I'm stupid... I think I have done redcliffe lol, last night in the early hours of the morning! The first lot of enemy waves were a breeze, just laid down a fire aoe spell as they came down the path then finished them off, and the second lot of waves at the gates was pretty easy. Didn't lose anyone.

edit: can anyone tell me how far along I am in the game then?

Looks like I wasn't the only one :p

Go to the character sheet, click on Statistics and it shows % completed.

while we're talking about DA:o

I'm thinking of starting again (never finished once but keep reinstalling /formatting when i'm halfway through and never finishing :p.

I quite like the rogue one and i've done the dalish and city elf start, also done the magi start but found a mage silly op.

I sortta want to try the other starts but not if they make it impossible later on for not using the right start for the class.

hows the dwarf/human starts for a rogue.

Tefal, I can't comment, but at the start, the mage is boring... I was getting bored with the usual 2 spells...

I am now level 14 with it, arcane warrior and I can tell you, it is a lot of fun :D

Can't wait to try out other classes though.

Killed my first dragon btw... was tough! Even on casual lol.

My turn now.

I'm lvl 13 and currently in the dungeon looking for andraste's ashes, I've tried and failed a couple of times to kill the High Dragon.

I'm an arcane warrior in jugernaut armour, got Alistair in templar armour as a tank, morrigain DPS & Wynne healing. I take it the best tactic would be for everyone apart Alistair to stay well back, let Alistair build up aggro then have the other three stay at range and pwn it?

Also, I've got the Elfs and mages onside, once I get Redcliffe who else apart from the dwarves do I get and once you've got them all on your side does that start a chain of events like the IFF in ME2?

A little tip, use as much crowd control as you can. On my first playthrough as a mage, I had myself, morrigan and wynne all using Crushing Prison and Force Field to get the numbers down a bit and control the battlefield. Alister just taunted and tanked with ease.

I am now playing through as a rogue and finding the slight lack of crowd control annoying but using pinning shot and a few other CC methods makes it easier.

Just take your time in the battles and if you can, try and take down the casters first, then the rest. Try and focus your fire on one or two enemies at a time. Dont have 4 players all on 4 different targets unless you have no choice as you wont get the enemies down as fast. Make sence?

Thats my 2 cents anyways :P
