Hey peeps! I've recently been playing DA and just recruited morrigan!

I'm just curious if anyone has any help with tactics etc for each player and how do u go about preparing for each fight? Do u switch from class to class using there abilities then changing to another class? I'm not 100 getting the tactics! I've recently downloaded the 25 tactic slot mod which I havent got around to playing with yet!

I'm a Mage btw! Also what spells/skills people rEcommend?

If anyone has any web sites tips or anything related to tactics etc please feel free to post as any help will be muchly appreciated!

Thanks

Simple tip but I make sure that every character has health potions in their action bar so I can easily switch to them and heal quickly.

I just use Alastair as tank, and then Ive pretty much put all my points into spell damage on my fire mage, Morrigan is caster, and Shall is dps/off tank

Alastair and the Dog to tank the major mob, and i use Wynn as support as well as her ability to use Earthquake, i'm a support Mage, so i either use Wynn or Leiliana as an archer/ranged.

The Dog is a legend, best character to have in your party at all times.

Mage: Get the Heal line, Wisp, Rock Armour, Mind Blast up until the better armour penetration skill, Paralyze line, the Hero line, and the line right at the top as well. You should also be putting points in Dexterity, Willpower, Magic and Cunning and keeping them level.

The key to this setup is Arcane Blast is your only damage dealer, but your role is to keep everyone alive. The amount of times i've saved my characters backsides [especially Alastair] in fights is countless.

If im going for the heal tree will wrynn be pointless when I get her? Isnt she ment to be a full-time healer?

Nah mate, she has Stone Fist, Earthquake and another damage dealer i can't remember, she's pretty much the perfect party member when teamed up with the Dog, also, when you run out of casting power and you need to heal, Wynn can do it for you without you resorting to Lyrium or Health Potions.

You could also use Leiliana as an archer, she's brilliant at ranged. I always make sure i have two melee and two ranged characters in my group.

Pretty much, have morrigan learn all the sleep and hex spells and set her tactics to controller. Have alastair tank and use the default defender tactics. Have your mage learn fireball and cone of cold and you should tear through everything.

Yeah, Fireball is an overpowered special in the game, i rage at it when it's casted on me, luckily i spam heals between me and Wynn to survive a Fireball, there is also a Templar special that is a one hit kill, Holy Grail i think it's called, proper rage moment when that was used against me.

Btw, take note of the hold position button, it's useful, especially against Blood Mages.

Hey, check out some of my playthrough vids, I played a crowd control glyph mage, its super fun:

Alistair - Tank, Morrigan - Nuker, Wynne - Healer + earth and heroic aura lines, my Mage = frost / glyphs / mind blast line.

You can get a respec mod as well to respec Wynne and Morrigan, its a must have if you play a mage yourself to synergise wynne + morrigan with you.

Dont make morrigan or wynne nukers as they will end up launching fireballs at you. More trouble than they are worth.

Its fine if you micromanage them and dont set them to use nukes in the tactics.

I give Morrigan Fire + Lightning + Hex / Entropy lines, Wynne Earth + Arcane + heals + heroic buffs, and they never fire stuff at me because I dont set AoE spells in their tactics.

Two nukers seems a bit redundant to me, would completely take any challenge out of the game. If you are going with 3 mages I would make one a healer, one a disabler and the last a bit of this and that. Still completely overpowered of course :)

Thats what I have? :p

I go as the disabler, morrigan as nuker, wynne as healer / buffer.

I still spec a single damage line on the healer + disabler because they need to have some damage support.

TBH the disabler build is more powerful than the nuker everywhere except castle redcliffe.

Oops just noticed thats what you have. Oh well never mind. One mage with blood wound and mana clash probably beats everything - make him an arcane warrior and you can solo nightmare and forget about pesky tactics on your companions :)

Kk cheers guys sounds good! Where can I get respec mod for other chars from?

Here:

http://social.bioware.com/project/469/

It adds a raven to various places in the game, easiest place to find it is in your camp.

It gives you respec potions, and allows you to unlock prestige classes so you can change your characters into whatever you want.

The class cant be changed though, it just resets all ability points and skills and you repick them.

Very handy when playing a mage yourself to use on wynne + morrigan.
