Dragon age

Yeah I've seen the videos, I have high hopes for the game as it is supposed to be "the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate" (unlike Neverwinter Nights), which is good because BG2 is one of my most favourite games.

Dragon Age seems to become more and more of a generic fantasy RPG. I remember when BioWare said it was going to be dark and atmospheric, ala George R R Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire'. Judging from the videos it's ventured a long way from that promise.

On the other hand, I have high hopes for the next NWN2 expansion which seems to be adopting some of the more highly regarded features of the Infinity Engine games (e.g. persistent death). Obsidian definitely seem to excel at storytelling, even if their games are often less than technically exceptional.

That's true about the next expansion. Hopefully they can get it just right, and then adopt the same format for a NWN3.
