Couldn't find any thread so making one of those 'official' threads (so daft).

Anyway, I just picked this up to quench the thirst of a JRPG after I couldn't get on with boy band simulator.

So far, only a couple of hours in but it's super fun, combat is the classic turn based and overall the presentation is incredibly detailed!

Anyone else picked this up?

Oi, the boy band simulator was great! (Not a fan of boy bands btw) :p

To be honest I did not get that vibe much from that game like some said. I thought it would be much worse than what some made it sound like.

Once I am done playing Witcher 3 again with the DLC this time and revisit FF15 to finish of the final dungeons I never did, then I may pick this up :)

I wanted to like it, I really did, but I love turn based JRPG's, the combat was fun, but that was about it for me personally :(

They really ***** up the story. The game had so much potential, both in that respect and in terms of the world/exploration. I liked the combat and the whole "bros on a trip" vibe, with camping/cooking etc. It even had some very nice moments.

I don't know how the game is now as I only played the bare-bones PS4 version but what I know is that it's quite different from what they had in mind and a lot of stuff was cut. The development was rather bumpy, unfortunately.

Yeah, I think I prefer turn based also mate. I actually thought I would not like the new system, but surprisingly got used to it and even liked it eventually.

Great thing is they have learned a lot from this and will hopefully do a better job in FF7 Remake. I really want to be able to summon an aeon whenever I want, not when the game allows me to for example.

Sadly they won't have turn based, the combat will be the same as the latest FF.

Anyway, back to Dragon Quest, the pacing is utterly sublime, loving it so far.

Yeah I know, that why I said they have learned a lot from FF15 so they can make improvements. I bet they will see that hardly anyone used the magic system in FF15 so they go another way with that in FF7.

They should keep the materia system, it was great imo.

Make sure you get the mod that plays the orchestral music rather than the MIDI stuff. So much better.
