I've been watching (mostly listening) to some youtubers stories of alternate dragonball z and super stories on YouTube and I get really wound up when they do the whole reading in English but then put the Japanese words in for certain things ie. Genki dama (spirit bomb), Tenshinhan (Tien) and also saying "son" Goku all the time.

Why is it these people feel they need to use the Japanese (or original language, not 100% sure it is Japanese tbh) words for these things? Is it just to make them sound like manga readers or am I missing something?

It's not like they call Krillin his non English name - Kuririn...

Is that geekdom101?
It is literally all of them. They think it makes them better fans or something by using the Japanese words for certain things, it would make more sense if they just screamed everything ( like the actual Japanese cartoons do ) rather than using the Japanese words lol.
