Dragons Den

Nice and positive? have you ever pitched infront of investors? its scary, to be honest though, you are right, Dragons den had some real bad pitches!
Well, if you're going to go on TV to make an ass of yourself. Expect to be laughed at.

That's how I see it.

You do get some stupid ideas on there, and some pitches just make you cringe. Have to admit though, Feb is gonna be a good month for TV. :)

Ever heard of google? And my reply was to your stupid half-arsed guess at it

Dragons den is a programme on BBC, where entrepreneurs propose their business idea to a panel of multi-millionaires. They give an amount which they would like ivnested into their company for whatever reason, but offer a percentage of ownership to the panel. So if they believed their company was worth £250,000 but only wanted to let 20% go, they would ask for £50,000, or something along those lines..

Each potential investor gives their views on the product/business, and if they like it so much that they want to invest in it, they'll give the person an offer, usually for a higher stake than they want to offer, so 30-40%, or even 50. The entrepreneur then decides whether to accept or decline the offer. Sometimes, an offer isn't made from any of the 5 panel members.

Happy? :p

good explaination of it but what's the point of the show. Sounds crap the way you describe it.

Dragons den is for people to get their idea's out there with large investors and show the public the process of a hard-sale-pitch with the most experienced of entrepreneurs.

The ability to get investment at a highly public event gives them a great advantage with publicity and also the chance to show people their product/business idea.

I for one, managed to get a lot of publicity because of my age and due to the fact that i was young and aiming a product that would benifit elderly/people in need...Unheard of around here now, because of the current issue of "Youths are out to cause trouble" with chavs and the like giving young people a bad image.

The show is aimed to be like the POP IDOL for business minded people :)

hope that clears it up for you!

It's just another pitiful reality show in the vacuous glut of television.

It is hardly pitiful, some of the contestants really have a spark and shouldn't branded akin to those off the X factor...

We are talking about 40% of the contestants here actually having something of which a lot don't have. Drive, dreams and aspirations

I do agree that some muppets make it on there and it is also played up for TV, yet to stand up there infront of those dragons is a major achievement in itself

I just hope that they've edited this series differently to previous ones. I bugs me to hell that always the last pitch each week gets the funding they require from the "Dragons". I want a bit of suspense once in a while!
And a new commentator guy :p

Yeah, Evan "wonky-eyed" Davies is a bit well, annoying. Oh yes... That's another bug-bear I have with the show! HE TELLS YOU ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING THAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN - BEFORE IT'S HAPPENED!

[caps lock off]

Seriously. Pay close attention tomorrow and watch him ruin it. The damn ruiner.

He looks like an adult foetus.

I like him.

Those statements are mutually exclusive.

The same thing happens every show anyway.

Dragon's Den = Light entertainment show featuring deluded people making arses of themselves in front of succesful, rich people in the name of good TV. And the occasional good idea.
X Factor = Light entertainment show featuring deluded people making arses of themselves in front of succesful, rich people in the name of good TV. And the occasional good singer.

I like both shows but can see them for what they are
