Hi all

We've got a few soil / drain problems in our house. We are connected to the main sewer line.

1. Laundry room STINKS sometimes.

I think it's worse after it rains but I haven't managed to confirm this yet. Sometimes there's no odour at all, sometimes the odour is somewhere between sewer and dirty wet towel.

I've taken apart the waste pipes from the sink and washing machine, all seemed fine and there's no smell from there anyway. The sink trap seems to be operating normally i.e. not dry.

2. The water drains slowly from both baths.

If it was one bathroom I'd blame fall or a blockage in the waste pipe, but both tells me it's the vent...possibly?

3. The toilet in the main bathroom drains its bowl almost entirely when it flushes, far more than the others do and the toilet gurgles quite a lot when doing so. The other toilets just flush normally, maintaining water in the pan / trap.

Are these issues connected in some way? Many thanks for any tips you might have!

I've looked inside the drain cover in the back garden. All looks good as in it's clear and I can see water passing freely through it when the toilets are flushed or a sink is run. There's no obvious smell either when sticking my face down there. I'm completely confused by this.
