Got an outside drain issue

Have tried putting rods down man hole but they go beyond the block which must mean there's a T section :-\
The only other way in is from next to the house. But the drain here is a sharp 90° angle that the rods can't manage
I thought about buying a stiff garden Hose as I can't immediately think of anything else.

It's is unlikely to be a 'sharp' 90 degree, it would usually a swept bend.

Hose would be useless, it will just bend up, either rod from another manhole, you need to rod with the flo, otherwise your pushing **** uphill, or as already said, call in the pros like Dyno Rod.

Most drain firms use a jetting machine, which will clear most blockages.

If you've got a pressure washer you can buy drain cleaning attachments, my Nilfisk has done the job a couple of times

This^^^

Cheaper than dynorod to go out and buy the kit specially! And you will then have it for the next time! (Drains never block just the once! :D )

(Living in an older property, rodding out the drains is part of routine maintenance. I wouldn't dream of actually paying somebody to do it for me!)

there must be a T junction as the rod goes straight past the blocked pipe entry and the length is def sufficient to reach if there wasnt

i am reluctant to call dyno rod etc as i just dread the cost tbh
i would need a pressure washer
the blockage cant be any further than 4 feet from the house

As I said earlier no good rodding against a Y junction, you need to rod from each pipe.

yep, i didnt realise it was until i started
might need to purchase a pressure washer + attachment!

to the other post, def our responsibility

From a couple of years ago in Staffordshire the water company took over responsibility for maintenance on their customers property, I would expect its everywhere else as well

I have the Nilfisk attachment for drains - I put jet nozzel on and it drove itself up drain - thought great then it stopped - Got stuck in a joint and couldn't pull it out -

Had to dig down and when got there could see why - builder in 1972 were cowboys -they put three 33 degree bends together for sweep into bathroom - found they were just to long so bent them to fit - which meant out side of joint's opened up.

Seems previous owners had problems as well and only way to unblock it was get on roof (Bungalow) and rod down vent pipe.

Nice new plastic swept bend on now.

In hind sight I think I should have used the wheel fitting but then I wouldn't have nice free running drains.
