Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

That type that youve linked too isnt a drain or a manhole. Its an inspection/rodding point so they can put cameras etc down or rods to clear blockages ive got one in my front garden that also lifts off.

Edit:- forgot this is gd.

Its a queen drain wasp my dad kills them for a living

So to all the sarcastic people, you’re telling me that the top is fitted to the surround but this isn’t meant to be fitted to anything? What are you smoking?

Its because you're making no sense at all.

From what I can gather, theres a problem with your drains and that problem is that you have drains when you were told you don't.

Secondly you then post an image saying the aren't "actually fitted " which is a strange way to describe a man hole, then post a picture of said man hole in the ground, exactly where you would expect said man hole.

Then apparently the cover is fitted into the surrounding chamber but you say this is wrong.

You still haven't said what the actual problem is.

This is an inspection chamber.

1. Which parts of it do you not have?
2. What is the exact problem you are having?

Honestly trying to help but its little wonder the developers aren't helping you they probably have no idea what you are talking about.

Some nights, it's just time to kick back, crack open the Bulmers and forget about things...... This is one of those nights imo.

In your first pic you can clearly see the area around the inspection covers aren't landscaped. They won't fix these permanently until landscaping which is down to you.

Everything else has already been said

Exactly that. Like this https://imgur.com/a/a4PBj

Not quite sure why most didn’t get that.

You can literally remove the whole surround and lid and just leave an empty cylindrical tube going into the ground. Pretty sure it’s mesnt to be secured in.

Including what you have said ;)

Still not sure how people aren't getting this. OP has stated several times that the issue with the manhole covers is that the surround that the cover sits in has not been secured. i.e. if the lid was removed one could also walk off with the surround as well

This is perfectly normal.

The Op is basically calling the developer a crook over something that isn't an issue in the slightest. There will almost always be inspection chambers and when installed in areas proposed for grass/landscaping they aren't concreted in just sat in the mud. Exactly the same as my last two new builds and I am expecting it to be the same on the next. If it is in an area of hardstanding I'd expect it to be fixed.

What on earth does that have to do with "not having drains on the plot" which was the point he was moaning about in the OP?

OP — when you say "Fast forward to now and we have some problems with some drains", what are the problems?

Is it that the inspection chambers haven't been cemented into the ground (and you didn't think you'd have any in your garden) or do you have an actual drainage problem like a blockage or bad smell?

Really? Mine levitate 6 feet off the ground! I'll have to contact the developers of my house.
