Draining water cooling system?

I had a custom water cooling system built by overclockers 2 years ago and I know you're supposed to drain your system every so many months. The problem I am having is they didn't put a Drain fitting on so I have no idea on how to drain my system without causing major damage by spillage or dismantling the reservoir from the case. Anybody have any ideas?

This going to be a pretty major pest to do :s

best place, below the GPU, get a plastic bowl or something (That wont damage your metal surfaces) and try to wedge it underneath
get quite a lot of kitchen towel nearby to avoid issues.

Unscreaw the compression fitting and slowly transfer into the bowl, if there's more liquid than will fit int he bowl you might need an assitant while you stick your thumb over the tube end and empty out the bowl.

While its empty I would suggest using the blanked off port on the bottom of your rest to make some sort of drain while your at this stage!

do you have any spare pipe of any kind?

My recommendation would be if it is one of the reservoirs with 1/4 plug in the top cap then attach a fitting and a piece of pipe and turn the entire case upside down and drain into a bowl of some kind.

If its just a plain cap then remove it and suck out all the coolant with a spare bit of pipe. Then once at the bottom fit it to the bottom of the reservoir, where the plug is and turn it upside down/on its side to get as much out as possible.

This one, spot on - the res should have a single port in the top which you can drain from. I think you need to use an extender to get a good seal on it then the fitting is my only addition.
