Right, when we moved into this flat there was a second toilet in a small room by the back door, which we ripped out and turned into a wash room (washing machine, tumble drier, etc).
On the outside of the wall is a 4" vent pipe running up the wall and 2 foot further on from that is a manhole cover, the only feed into the manhole cover is our washroom and kitchen, no "organic" waste.
Does anybody know if this ventpipe is still needed? If i can chop it down i've got a bit more room to play with in the back yard (the pipe is just far enough away from the corner of the yard to be in the way!)

Bathroom is on a different sewer, looks like i might have to make do with re-routing it somehow.
