Just finished this demo, but still don't quite get how the stats system works. Most of the time it only lets me upgrade one stat (e.g. strength etc.) and doesn't let me select the others .

Anyone got a guide or something please?

Thanks,
Craig.

Every level of a stat or skill requires more AP to increase.

Therefore stats you are weak in will be able to be upgraded sooner than others.

A dexterity of 17 will need considerably more AP to improve compared to an intelligence of 10.

So basically to level e.g. strength I'd just need to save up a load of quest points/exp and apply it when available?

Yes. You can spend points anytime you want. It is handy to save some up though, as after the starting area you get to the city and can spend those points on new combat skills/spells that are not available at the beginning. You need to find the trainers for those.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you will max out skills/talents if you put lots of points into one thing. This is where the levels come in. To get higher in said skill you need to level up. Then you can advance it again a certain amount.

Yeah, AP act as 'money' to buy upgrades in skills/attributes or to buy abilities from trainers.

You actual level determines the maximums of these.

Also, don't get into the AD&D mindset, having an attribute at 18 isn't as amazing as it would be in AD&D, your stats can just get better and better if you have enough AP :)
