According to the latest version of Cpu-Z my dram frqency is 400.8mhz. IS the correct for my ram?

I've noticed that cpu-z seems to report 1MHz either side of what it should be, so it's probably fine?
(cpu-z reports the ddr frequency, the ddr2 freqency is double that)

Ah ha! Tar. How do you know what is safe to take it upto?
No, CPU-Z reports actual frequency, all DDR RAM (DDR, DDR2, whatever) is effective of double actual.
Try it and test but if possible stick within specs, iirc the E8400 has a 9x multi so you could get 3.6 Ghz out of it without overclocking the RAM, which should be more than enough for games at least.

This is going to sound weird but my very similar spec'd ram fluxuates between 200 and 400MHz - never sticking with one or the other?
