Drawing programs

So i need to draw designs for my dissertation. The designs are of a hexapod robot where i need to show the different positions of the legs.

Any good programs that are free that would let me design them easily?

Looks like something called Draw Plus is free: http://www.serif.com/free-graphic-design-software/

Could give that a go. Alternatively you can get Any of the Adobe Suites on a 30 day trial for free, so depending on how hard you are gonna be cramming your dissertation you could give that a go.

Alternatively there are apps like Google Sketchup that might be worth a look. Not quite so fluid in terms of drawing I don't think but that is free as well.
