drayek DNS domain forwarding

i have a draytek 2962 installed together with a l2tp vpn connection, everything works, but the only problem is, when a vpn is connected it does not resolve the external DNS.

For example, on our domain test22.local we have some servers exc. server1.test22.local , if i do a ping on server1 it resolves , and i get a ping back.. but if i make a vpn connection and i do a ping on server1 it does not resolve it ( it does on server1.test22.local)

how to configure this on the Draytek ?

I think you'll need to provide more detail about what you're trying to achieve and how you've configured things.

If you have a VPN there must be two ends, what's the other one?

Are you dialling in or out, or is it site-to-site?

How are the subnets at the two ends configured?

What are you pinging from the server?

Hi, i will try to explain
we have a network connected to a draytek router ( ip adresses: 172.30.x.x ) on the draytek router l2tp vpn is activated. so clients from home can connect with their laptop/pc to our internal network with vpn
if connected they can access the internal servers ( for example server1 has ip 172.30.4.5 ).
The problem is if they are at home or somewhere else, they have to type the ip adress instead of the DNS name ( in this example, they have to type 172.30.4.5 to access server1 ) what i want is they can type
server1 and not needed to use the ip adress.

You need to set the DNS search suffix to test22.local if that is an option in the DrayTek VPN server settings. Otherwise you will have to configure it on each VPN connection.

thx, addind the DNS suffix on devices was a good solution for us, now it works... thx ( added with powershell )
