Hi

In work we have a Cisco WAG320N Router, Am setting up a linux server in work and for some reason i forward some ports and it just doesnt work.

so i tried my Draytek router at home, used to do it years ago all the time and it worked fine, Am i missing something or being stupid?

On the draytek i go to NAT : Port Redirection : Click on a number (1 and 2) : 1 = UDP 2 = TCP.

MODE : Single, Service Name: Anything, Protocol : (1)UDP (2)TCP, WAN IP : All, Public Port: 50, Private IP : 192.168.0.13(server address example), Private Port 50.

That is standard port forwarding, When i go to a port checker web site it always says port is closed. I used to set up gaming server and use 27015 as a port, tried that and still said closed .

Am i doing something really stupid?

I use http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check what ports are open.

Thanks in advance.

So from what i see i am doing it the correct way, i am not pointing the port to any pc as i was just saying it at home, I just wanted to see if open port checker tool would pick up the port being opened.

Both in work with a linksis (cisco) and my draytek i open the ports like i used to do years a go but both come up with ports still closed. Loosing my hair here hehe :)
