Hi, have joined forum and looking for some help.
I have a draytek 2830 router that I am currently using as a dhcp server while my modem is just connected as the defult gateway. This is working fine but would like to also setup a VPN PPTP connection using the draytek to remotlly manage and maintain my network. I have set this up many of times before but have allways used the 2830 as my primary modem. I want to avoid doing this and keep the setup the same.

Can I still setup a VPN on the draytek witout using the draytek as a modem?
If so anybody know how?

When you say your "modem" is it JUST a modem? How are your devices connected? What is providing NAT/Firewall at your WAN/Modem interface?

There is more to this then just a "Yes" answer. The way in which you are connecting up your devices is hugely important and will have implications on what configuration you require and what, if any packet forwarding you need to do and where.
