Hi all

I have a Drayton wireless thermostat. The wireless unit itself appears to have packed in, but the receiver unit hard wired to the boiler appears to be working OK. Does anyone know if it's possible to pair a new Drayton wireless thermostat to an existing receiver unit that's about 11 years old? I really don't want to have to replace the receiver unit if I can avoid it.

Many thanks

M

We had the Drayton receiver unit for our boiler give up about a year ago - ours are Drayton units rebadged as British Gas ones. If you don't have any joy, might be worth giving them a call to see if they can replace the wireless unit.

Most cost effective thing to do would be to go to plumb center and get a center brand rf stat. I think they are about, £45. They are made by Honeywell. Other than that, I would want to make sure it's the thermostat and not the receiver, (unless the display has disappeared or something) as those receivers are notorious for packing up! If you want a really cheap repair then I think there is a guy on eBay repairing these things, as it's just normally a faulty component in the receiver.

All get a hive remote heating and fit it your self as the wiring is all done. British Gas will fit them for £99 if it's replace faulty controls. Ring them up and ask for a quote to get someone round.
