A couple months back had a Drayton wiser kit 3 installed (3 channel system, 2 thermostats+DHW)

Also got a couple wiser TRV's...awaiting for an offer before I buy more.

Trying to figure out how best to "ease of use" for the wife as she works different days. At the moment the schedules turn all the heating off between 8:30 and 4:30 during the week.

But sometimes she's is off during week and now weather is starting to get colder looking for a solution for the system to heat when she is there as easy as possible.

Got Alexa's around the house but I believe they only boost a room/thermostat for an hour. Thought could use location routines but they have not been rolled out to the UK.

Looked a little into IFTTT but don't really understand how that could help me apart from using the life360 app to track location.

On the app when you select boost its 30 min 1 2 or 3 hours (click the zone you want to boost)

I never have mine go off totally, just to a low temp, but house is well insulated so to be honest it can go hours unless its really really cold before you notice the temp isnt as warm

Yes obviously can use the app but was hoping for something more automated.

Had hive before which has geofencing which worked well, maybe should have stuck with that in the new house.

Geofencing is for whole-house though isn't it? Mainly for turning off when no one is home and turning on when someome is x number of miles from home?

We only use the no-one home function, everything else we do via the app on a room-by-room basis as needed. No need to heat the study if I am not planning on being in there, etc.

This is Tado though, I don't know exactly how the Drayton stuff works.

The best way is probably to set the daytime temp at something comfortable, then use the geofencing effectively to turn off the heating when you're both out by setting a low Away mode temperature. Assuming during the day anyone home is most likely to be in the living room/kitchen most of the time you might want just to have the channel that their heat is from on, leaving the other effectively off with a low threshold temperature. Also, if there are rooms unlikely to be used during the day, they would be the candidates for the TRVs; set those to a low temp and keep the doors shut.

You can also manually set a desired temperature on the thermostats, which overrides the schedule until the next schedule change event.

Not sure if it's possible with Drayton but with mine ifttt via Life360 tracks phones so if a phone is at home the heating stays on.

You can also say "Alexa day off" and it will do the same.
