Help! I'm getting a lot of BSOD. It never stays on long enough for me to see what it says, but now it's getting much worse! PC won't boot at all now, and I get the blue screen every time. It also started emitting a high pitched beep earlier when i turned it on!! That only happened once though.

I see a blue screen at the start when i try to run safe mode say something like 'pagefault in non-paged area', whatever that means!? Don't get that when i run normal mode though.

When i restart i get a message saying system BIOS has deteceted unsuccessful POST attempts.

I opened it up and all seems ok. I did install a new CPU (a quad core) the other week, but it was running fine until just recently. Nothing changed in the BIOS. What can i do about this? Driving me nuts! HELP!

Thanks. I've downloaded Memtest and am running it now. Will see what it says in the morning. I did buy new RAM a couple of months ago, but been running fine until now. It has warranty on it anyway. It was Teem Xtreem so good stuff. I bought an extra 2GB to bump me up to 4GB. Made sure to buy exactly same RAM as i already have, so shouldn't be any conflicts. Not OC'd it or anything though, so i'd be interested to know what has made it go wrong if that is the problem.

UPDATE: Interesting. Running Memtest now and getting LOADS of read numbers at the bottom, which seems to suggest failure. The ERRORS column is at about 150000 now, and rising fast...

How will i know which stick of RAM is faulty? Presumably it won't be ALL of them?!

Hello Legend,

Try it stick by stick, you can stop it once you get a few errors, as if it was good ram you wouldn't get any at all. No need to wait until it stops. :)

Speaking of ram, one of my OCZ Platinum 6400 sticks decided to die on me yesterday. :(
