I played it, its really quite a short game, but I understand its just Chapter 1 of 2.
Yes, it is scary.. and with a rather unusual theme (these days) of ghosts, and traditional Indonesian ones at that. Its quite hard to figure out the few puzzles in the game, and how to use the camera properly, but in terms of atmospherics, controls, lack of bugs and scare factor I would say its pretty good for an indie.
Having been to Indonesia many times that's what attracted me actually, and it does have very good localisation aspects. The ghosts could be seen as rather cheesy in some cases but they are based on local folklore which a lot of Indonesians do believe in, so while we may laugh at it in places (the Babi Ngepet for example), I imagine they have a lot of real brown trouser moments playing this.
if I can compare to Outlast Whistleblower.. Its shorter, equally scary, but less sick/graphic, which made it easier to play through for me. You do only have quite a small area in the main part of the game, which you need to keep exploring, and that can be disorientating. Whereas Whistleblower is very linea
